Bodo Möller Chemie has expanded a its production facility at its location in Egypt for the production of solvent-based epoxy resins and polyurethanes as well as packaging fillers. The upgrade to the site significantly increases the capacity of the existing plant by 1,000tpa to 9,000tpa in total. The facilities allow mixing and formulating under nitrogen gas at temperatures of up to 120 °C and the products are filled in customer-friendly container sizes of 100 grams to five kilograms using three automated filling lines. The company has also significantly increased its on-site workforce.

Bodo Möller Chemie took over the Sadat City production site, together with the Alexandria and Cairo labs and sales offices, from the Huntsman Corporation in 2015, establishing their own Polymer System House. The new production stage will take over the manufacturing of solvent-based products so the existing plant can concentrate on manufacturing aqueous systems.

The Egyptian site is certified to European ISO and EHS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 5001 and ISO 45001). The application lab for thermosets and textiles, which is also operated by Bodo Möller Chemie, has state-of-the-art equipment for carrying out mechanical and chemical tests on finished products, including impact, tensile and shear strength, pressure resistance and scratch resistance tests as well as DSC and Karl Fischer titration.
