Safic-Alcan, a major distributor of specialty chemicals, has acquired 100% of Sarfam Indústria Comércio e Importação Ltda., a Brazilian chemical distributor specializing in the personal care, perfumery and cosmetics sectors. The move follows hot on the heels of the establishment of Safic-Alcan in Brasil and the acquisition of Proquimil.

Sarfam was established 25 years ago by Mrs Maria Antonia Salerno and has has a strong presence in the Brazilian personal care market distributing high quality raw materials and bioactives from global manufacturers. The company is headquartered in São Paulo and their operations also include an application laboratory which will add to Safic-Alcan's own network of laboratories worlwide.
