TER Chemicals, a leading distributor and retailer of specialty chemicals and a division of German-based TER Group, has announced the acquisition of Trexan Chemicals, Inc., a chemical distribution company specializing in the adhesives raw material market.

The purchase of Trexan enhances TER Chemicals role in the North American distribution space and fits into their global strategy of expanding into specialty chemicals markets in this region. The deal widens the TER Group's US network of companies which already includes Gehring Montgomery, Keim Additec, and Paramelt.

Trexan Chemicals, Inc. is a well-established US distributor for ExxonMobil Chemical and TSRC/Dexco – distributing products well known in various industries but with a strong focus on adhesive and sealants applications. Brand names are Escorez™, Escorene™, Optema™, ExxonMobil™EnBA, ExxonMobil™LDPE, Exxon™butyl and halobutyl rubber, Vistalon™, Vector™ and Taipol™. These key partnerships will enable TER Chemicals to enhance its visibility and growth in the U.S. marketplace. TER Chemicals is already the distributor for most of these product lines of both manufacturers in Europe.
